Hub Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
This policy explains what happens to information when you use Hub, the Mac app made by B Medicine (Ahmed Alsinbili; "I", "me"), and when you contact me for support.
The short version
Hub keeps your projects on your Mac. Hub has no account, no adverts, no analytics and no tracking, and it makes no internet connections of its own. I do not receive your projects, your files, your emails or anything else you put in Hub.
What Hub stores, and where
- Your hubs. Each project ("hub") is a small file in a folder you choose on your Mac. It holds the project's title, next step, tasks, notes, meetings, messages, log and time records, and the names and locations of the files and links you add.
- Your files. Hub records where your files and folders are and opens them in place. It does not upload them.
- Emails. When you drag an email in from a mail app, or download one from Gmail, Hub keeps a copy of that email in a folder you choose on your Mac.
- Settings and backups. Hub's settings are kept on your Mac. Backups are made only on your Mac, in a folder you choose.
- Permissions. The App Store version of Hub can open only the folders and files you allow. Hub remembers those permissions on your Mac, and you can remove them in Settings, Access.
When information leaves your Mac, and only because you ask
- The iCloud copy. If you use Settings, Another Mac, Hub copies your hubs, and the files you tick, into your own iCloud Drive. Apple stores them under your Apple Account and Apple's terms; I have no access to them.
- Claude. If you start a Claude session from Hub, Hub passes a short briefing to the Claude app or Claude Code: the project's title, where its hub file is, its next step, up to 12 open tasks, and the names and locations of up to 10 of its files. The Claude app shows the briefing to you, and nothing is sent until you send it. Anything you then send is handled by Anthropic under its own terms and privacy policy. Hub also reads, on your Mac, the records the Claude app and Claude Code keep of past sessions, to list the sessions run in a project's folder; it does not send them anywhere.
- Links and files you open. Hub opens web links in your browser and files in the apps you use for them; those apps and websites have their own policies.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; I do not receive your name, your payment details or your Apple Account. Hub checks whether a subscription is active on your Mac, through Apple's StoreKit. Apple gives me sales reports that do not identify you.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, Hub asks macOS for permission and shows notifications on your Mac. They are made on your Mac and are not sent through any server.
Crash reports
If you choose, in macOS's Analytics settings, to share crash data with app developers, Apple may pass me crash reports about Hub. They help me fix problems; they are not used for anything else.
When you contact me
If you write to bmedicineuk@gmail.com, I receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. I use them only to answer you and to fix problems, and I keep them for no longer than 12 months after your question is answered. I do not share them, except with the email provider that holds the mailbox. Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete what I hold about you, or object to its use, by writing to the same address. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
Hub is not directed at children, and it collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If Hub ever starts to handle information differently, this policy will be updated first, with a new date at the top, and the change will be described in Hub's release notes.
